Vintage Solid Thuya Wood Trinket Box -perfect mancave gift

A stunning vintage beautifully handcrafted with Thuya wooden box.  The box is constructed with solid Thuya wood as the texture, and patterns can be seen on both sides.  A lovely size trinket box for a study desk, man cave or even jewellery.
Thuya wood usually ranges in colour from a golden brown to a light red-brown. It has a characteristic three-dimensional form in its light and shade patterned appearance, accompanied by a multitude of small dark ‘eye’ formations.   Sourced from an evergreen conifer, Thuya wood is primarily native to the Atlas mountains of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia in north-west Africa, with smaller settlements in Malta and near Cartagena in south-east Spain.  The most desirable parts of the wood are obtained from the burrs that are located underground within the large roots of the tree.  
Research has shown whilst rarely used by English cabinet makers and box makers, Thuya wood tended to be more favoured by their French counterparts.
 
Condition: Good vintage condition, hinges are in good working order.  Some wear is commensurate with age and use.

Antique or vintage items have been used and as most antique dealers would say "PRE-LOVED", they will show signs of wear which is commensurate with age.  Now this will appeal to some as it authenticates its age.
