Vintage German Silver Wine and Drinks Thermometer with Silver vine leaves

A charming wine and drinks Thermometer. This lovely German thermometer is cased in a silver cover with vine leaves and grapes to state what it is for. There is a silver stamp on the rim, too small to pick up - presumed to be German.

The instructions for the various temperatures of wine in German can be clearly seen on the back end of the thermometer - this is encased inside. : Rot u Sussweine 16-18°, Weissweine 8-12°, dtsch. Weinbrand 8° Schaumw 6-8°, Bier u franz. Weine 8-10°, franz Cognac u Edelikor 16-18°

Condition: Good vintage condition with some wear commensurate with age and use. The thermometer was tested on warm whiskey and cold water, the red-colored alcohol inside the thermometer moved up and down to indicate temperature. The Red alcohol has a red solid line on the top end of the thermometer which does not move. The box and thermometer might not have started out together.
