Stunning Bronze Sculpture of a pair of Pelican' Bird's sharing a stump sign B.C.

A stunning work of art, a bronze sculpture of two pelicans sharing a stump with rope entwined around the base.  Terrific detail is captured in the casting with brilliant texture and details from the feathers of the wings to the feet and claw holding on to the stump.  The pair of pelicans are leaning into each other which could symbolise attachment / intimacy between the birds.  Their wings are spread to balance but also seem to embrace each other.  
The sculpture is on a green marble base and the signature : B.C. Zherf can be seen on the base of the stump.    Research has shown B.C.Zherf is a contemporary  German artist and a few of his works have been sold at auction. see link below

Condition: Good Vintage Condition, with some, wear commensurate with age and use.
