Antique Brass Fire Starter Set with Volcanic Rock fuel dipstick Art Nouveau

This is a very fine example of the Art Nouveau era especially the Arts and Crafts movement with the hammered finish on the Brass container and tray.  Handcrafted items.  A highly decorative tool for the fireplace and will complete any antique collection.  This is a full set with a container for the fuel, dipping stick, and tray to collect any drips - not often do you find the full set.
 
The bottom of this particular item, which was created by the Cape Cod Shop, is stamped with its distinctive fish logo. One of the most well-known manufacturers of these fire lighters was The Cape Cod Shop, which operated a retail location on Fifth Avenue in New York from the 1890s until the 1930s. This particular firestarter is of the Arts and Crafts era and is one of their earlier pieces from c1900
 
This Firestarter is a pumice stone or volcanic rock held on a decorative stick.  In my TikTok video, you can see how it is lit and placed in a fireplace or stove.  The jar is for the fuel, dip the stone in the fuel - light it up, and stick it in the kindling to start your fire.   I found the video on youtube - I did not dip this particular antique smudge or dipping stick.
 
In today's time, this antique is considered quite sustainable as it is reusable.
 
Condition: Good antique condition with some wear commensurate with age and use.  It is left in antique condition, brass has age and patina.

Antique or vintage items have been used and as most antique dealers would say "PRE-LOVED", they will show signs of wear that are commensurate with age.  Now this will appeal to some as it authenticates its age.
