Antique Art Nouveau Square Low Pedestal with Bun feet /Poker work organic design

An exquisitely decorated low pedestal with the antique method of poker work.   This is a very long process of putting a hot poker in a fire and then burning the design on the wood.  What is left behind is a beautifully textured background with the negative spaces being filled and positive spaces being the Art Nouveau organic plant design.  
 
A very strong design from the Art Nouveau era, with typical organic shapes, a handcrafted item in an era called Arts and Crafts as a juxtaposition to massed produced products.   This a fantastic pedestal for your decorating needs.   

Condition: Good antique condition with some wear commensurate with age and use.   The colour stain on the wood has faded over the years due to age and use.   As it is hand made one bun is slightly smaller so the pedestal is slightly off-kilter.

Antique or vintage items have been used and as most antique dealers would say "PRE-LOVED", they will show signs of wear which is commensurate with age.  Now this will appeal to some as it authenticates its age.
