A movement in decorative arts and architecture that began in the 1920s and became a dominant style in Western Europe and the United States throughout the 1930s is known as Art Deco, also known as style moderne. Its name comes from the 1925 Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, where the design was initially displayed. Modernism transformed into fashion was reflected by Art Deco design. Both hand-made luxury goods and mass-produced goods were among its offerings, but the goal was to create a modern, anti-traditional elegance that denoted wealth and refinement.
Simple, clean lines, frequently with a "streamlined" appearance; decoration that is geometric or stylised from figurative forms; and highly varied, frequently symmetrical patterns are the defining characteristics of the style.
At Roe Antiques we often acquire Art Deco items for interior design and have sold many Art Deco mirrors, flycatcher lights, and Bronze statues to name a few. It is one of our favourate movements so always keep an eye out for these items.

I love the Art Deco era too, especially how you can incorporate and integrate into our modern lifestyle and design. 😍
